Aydın Saglar is the first founder of Saglar Architects and the architect of numerous important residential projects such as Demircikoy Houses and Sunflower Silivri Houses as well as important Business Centers including Polaris Tower and Guney Plaza. His passion for architecture inspired both his daughter Nilufer Saglar and his son Volkan Saglar to follow his path. Nilufer Saglar Onay is an architect with more than 20 years of teaching and project experience both in Turkey and Italy and author of many books and articles on architectural theory and design. Volkan Saglar is also an architect and urban planner that has contributed to very important big scale projects in Istanbul. Now second generation Saglar Architects are working actively in numerous residential and commercial projects in the rapidly changing architectural environment of Istanbul trying to create a difference with their responsible approach that focuses on the values of the city and its people.
The speed of change and expansion has always been a big threat for the city of Istanbul but it is still the most authentic and beautiful cities of the world. The mission of Saglar Architects is to contribute to these authentic values of the city with an innovative approach and to demonstrate that architecture can greatly contribute to the well being and the happiness of its people.
Aydın Saglar has passed away in 2018 but his teachings are transferred and developed by his daughter Nilufer and his son Volkan proud to be his followers.
